Daily Prayer Day 53

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;
You will stretch out Your hand against the anger of my foes,
And Your right hand will save me.
The Lord will perfect His work in me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
You will not abandon the works of Your hands.  (Psalm 138:7-8)

Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth.  For Your mercy reaches to the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.  (Psalm 57:5, 10)

Jesus took bread, gave thanks, and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is My body."  Then He took the cup, gave thanks, and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.  This is My blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."  (Matthew 26:26-28)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I want to be a doer of the word and not merely a hearer who deceives himself.  For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror, and after looking at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was.  But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and continues in it and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the word, this one will be blessed in what he does.  (James 1:22-25)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will not wear myself out to get rich; I will have the understanding to cease.  I will not set my desire on what flies away, for wealth surely sprouts wings and flies into the heavens like an eagle.  (Proverbs 23:4-5)

He who oppresses the poor reproaches their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors Him.  (Proverbs 14:31)

Lord, I thank You for Your glory and faithfulness and for Christ’s body and blood.  I thank You that You want me to apply Your word in my life, and I ask that You keep me from greed and give me a generous heart.
