DAY 195

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

Great and marvelous are Your works,
Lord God Almighty!
Righteous and true are Your ways,
King of the nations!
Who will not fear You, O Lord,
And glorify Your name?
For You alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before You,
For Your righteous acts have been revealed. (Revelation 15:3-4)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; evil cannot dwell with You. (Psalm 5:4)

The Lord of hosts warned the priests of Israel, "If you do not listen, and if you do not set your heart to honor My name, I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; indeed, I have already cursed them, because you have not set your heart to honor Me." (Malachi 2:2)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

If I live according to the flesh, I will die; but if by the Spirit I put to death the deeds of the body, I will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. (Romans 8:13-14)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

He who answers a matter before he hears, that is his folly and his shame. (Proverbs 18:13)

The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but perverseness in it crushes the spirit. (Proverbs 15:4)

Lord, I thank You that You take no pleasure in wickedness and that You call Your people to honor Your name. I thank You for leading me by Your Spirit, and I ask that I would be careful to listen to others and to edify them in the things that I say.

DAY 194

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to the poor, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He instructs sinners in His ways. (Psalm 25:8)

Jesus said to the scribes and Pharisees, "It is not the healthy who need a physician, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Mark 2:17)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." (Romans 1:16-17)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will not go about spreading slander among people, nor will I do anything that endangers the life of my neighbor. (Leviticus 19:16)

He who speaks truth reveals what is right; but a false witness, deceit. (Proverbs 12:17)

Lord, I thank You for instructing sinners in Your ways and for Christ’s loving ministry to sinners. I thank You for the power of the gospel of faith in Your Son, and I ask that I would be truthful in all my words.

DAY 193

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.

Since I have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, I will hold firmly to the faith I confess. For I do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with my weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way, just as I am, yet without sin. Therefore, I will approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that I may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:14-16)

Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I will exalt the Lord my God and worship Him, for the Lord God is holy. (Psalm 99:9)

The Lord has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their heart. He has brought down rulers from their thrones and has lifted up the humble. (Luke 1:51-52)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

It is in You, Lord Jesus, that I have peace. In this world I will have tribulation, but I will be of good cheer, because You have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

This is the message we heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. The one who does not love abides in death. By this we know love, that Christ laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. (1 John 3:11, 14, 16)

We should love one another, for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:7-8)

Lord, I thank You for Your holiness and for the mighty deeds You have done. I thank You that I have peace in Christ, and I ask that I would love others in the same way You loved me.

DAY 192

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

May the name of the Lord Jesus be magnified in my life. (Acts 19:17)

In view of God's mercy, may I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, which is my reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted and justice for the poor. (Psalm 140:12)

Those who had anyone sick with various kinds of diseases brought them to Jesus, and laying His hands on each one, He healed them. (Luke 4:40)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

You are the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is Your flesh, which You have given for the life of the world. (John 6:51)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I desire to have a clear conscience and to live honorably in all things. (Hebrews 13:18)

As an alien and a stranger in the world, I will abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against my soul. (1 Peter 2:11)

Lord, I thank You for Your compassion for the afflicted and the poor and the way in which Your Son demonstrated that compassion. I thank You that He is the living bread that came down from heaven, and I ask that I would abstain from those things that are displeasing to You.

DAY 191

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger
Or chasten me in Your wrath.
Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am weak;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are in distress.
My soul also is greatly troubled;
But You, O Lord, how long? (Psalm 6:1-3)

Let the power of my Lord be great, just as You have spoken, saying, "The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression." (Numbers 14:17-18)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

It pleased the Lord for the sake of His righteousness to make His law great and glorious. (Isaiah 42:21)

Is the law opposed to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been by the law. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. (Galatians 3:21-22)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

He who believes in God's Son is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. (1 Corinthians 8:1)

We love, because God first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And we have this commandment from Him: that the one who loves God must also love his brother. (1 John 4:19-21)

We must let brotherly love continue. (Hebrews 13:1)

Lord, I thank You for the greatness of Your law and for the way it points to the need for faith in Jesus Christ. I thank You that since I believe in Christ, I will not face condemnation, and I ask that I would manifest my love for You by loving others.
